Hecklers

I am not a comic act, nor am I on the stage. So why do I seem to attract so many stupid hecklers to my site? I've not done anything to you, so why do you spam my tagboard with so much shit and then when I ask you politely to stop it, you turn around and call me names????? Even my old friend 'oldgeezer' got pelted...

Take a hint, I have your IP address and I will ban every single goddamn one your ISP owns so that you don't keep changing it and coming back. I know you live in the UK - if you don't leave my site alone, I will hunt you down and pelt you with a real piece of shit.

Rant over... I can go to sleep now.

My first ever footy shirt...

In six years of working for this company, I must have entered hundreds of competitions to win stuff and so far, I have won a phone and two cinema tickets. Had a nice surprise today when I was reading through the weekly email from the big boss and she announced that I was one of the winners of the first few draws in the "World Cup Predictor" competition. So I went off to collect my prize, thinking it was another company branded T-shirt or something, but to my surprise, I came back with a cool England shirt (complete with price tag - it was £35)!! This has to be one of the best things I have received from the company!

Found out about the nasty things that TVB have been doing to my fellow fansite owner TVB Square today. (Check out the blog at the site for more details.) I'm now wondering when I'm gonna receive a similar letter through my door. My hunch is that they are combatting any sites that offer 'downloads' of any kind and that they won't come down with the same force on little fansites like mine, but there are some other more blatant download sites that CHARGE people who are still in business. Now that's what REALLY annoys me! (Those who know me will know who I am referring to...)I think if TVB weighed up the amount of free advertising and publicity that fansites provide them with, it would far far outweight the amount of 'loss' they have made. Oh well, if TVBspace gets shut down and Ghosty is sent back to emspace, then don't worry, I'll make sure he gets his old desk back and a space to put his pot plant! Maybe my creative writing will make a comeback - unless TVB decides to crack down on fanfics as well, but that would be WAAAY out of order! (And all the references to TVB in 'Stardust Dreams' have been disguised anyway.... hahaha!)

Anyway, enough about those stupid people. Booked my next holiday - always have to have something to look forward to. Sooo looking forward to it now, a week of 5-star luxury and indulgence, nice weather, fresh seafood, refreshing hikes.....

Doesn't that look beautiful?

Bottom line, you are good at playing by the rules.

You tend to be dominant - and you are a natural leader.
You are interested in rules and order. Morals are important to you.

A hard worker, you give your all at whatever you do.
You're very serious, and people often tell you to lighten up.

In love, you tend to take things carefully and slowly.

At work, you are suited to almost any career - but you excel in leadership positions.

With others, you tend to be polite and formal.

As far as looks go, you are traditionally attractive. You take good care of yourself.

On weekends, you tend to like to do organized activities. In fact, you often organize them!

I'm not crying, my eyes just hate summer...

Summer is great, it's warm and sunny, the day lasts until 10pm and you can get loads of ice cream without freezing to death. I'd probably enjoy it, if my hayfever wasn't so bad.

Woke up this morning and my eyes were pretty bad to start with, in that I had to pry them apart with a damp cloth, then when I walked out towards the bus stop, some workmen were laying down tarmac and smoking out the place so badly that I had to walk on to the next stop to avoid this. This wasn't so great for my already sore eyes, so the day just got worse and worse as I sat in the draught at work with dry aircon air blowing out at me all day. My boss said that it was painful just looking at my eyes and another manager kept walking past saying: "Your eyes look really sore!", No shit, Sherlock! At lunchtime, I bought a bottle of Fanta from the vending machine, not because I was thirsty, just that it was good to roll around on my eyelids to cool down my eyes. The relief was temporary, but I held on until half six before leaving work.

Gonna stop staring at this screen now, I think I should go and rest my eyes......

futbol?

Being born and bred in Britain, you can't help but become a bit of a football fan and even if you don't usually follow it much, the World Cup is one event not to be missed. Despite the two words 'World Cup' being much of a swear word at work for the past few days as we sort out all the staff leave and incident planning in preparation for the abnormal behaviour of our productivity in the next five weeks, I still inadvertantly tuned into the first game between Germany and Costa Rica as they started to show it on the specially adapted big screens at work. (Normally, they display business-related information.) When I got back home, I carried on watching and what a great game it was! I'm no expert, but I like watching football games where they score lots of really entertaining goals. Then I flipped over the channels afterwards and went on to watch the Poland vs Ecuador game as well, whilst I translated today's TVBspace News. (I now have multitasking down to a fine art.)

One thing I have done for the first time this year is sign up for a fantasy league team. Unfortunately, thanks to Germany conceding two goals in the first game, my overall score is currently -1, so said defender has now been transferred out and thanks to some tactical advice from my consultant (aka Tony) my line up is currently:

P Cech
J Terry
W Gallas
M Dudic
D Simic
JR Riquelme
Juninho
M Ballack
S Gerrard
L Toni
Ronaldinho
SUBSTITUTES
F Barthez
G Zambrotta
M Babic
Z Ibrahimovic

Fingers crossed I get some points tomorrow!

Buttercups!

Looked out of the kitchen window yesterday and noticed that the lawn was dotted with pretty yellow buttercups. Since when did we have buttercups in our garden??? Proves how often I venture out into the garden - no wonder the squirrels and cats think they own it.

Update 10/06/06: My hubby mowed the lawn today - the buttercups are no more. They have been bundled up with the grasscuttings and are now festering away nicely in the organic waste bin. Shame eh??

RIP TVB Sims...

Well, it's been two weeks now since my desktop departed, but with my trusty laptop by my side, then fortunately I haven't missed the old klunky one too much. The only thing I can't do on my lappy is play Sims 2, so until I manage to acquire a replacement, I won't be able to resurrect them. Even then, I won't be able to have the same bunch, so I'll just have to wave goodbye to them and just look back at the good times captured on my blog... sigh! Hahaha so sad....

Weather has been glorious this weekend, but I really can't find the motivation to go outside. I should really be going out to the park and running around for a couple of hours, but my hormones just tell me to veg out and do nothing. Doesn't help that my body temperature changes from hot to cold back to hot again every 15 minutes. Maybe I will be able to haul myself into the garden later at least, watch the squirrels and get some fresh air.

Oh, and getting some food in me would be a good idea as well...
